New Passport Rules 2026: Latest validity periods to fees explained for children to seniors

India's Ministry of External Affairs has announced new passport regulations for children under the age of fifteen. The updated rules specify that passports issued to minors will now be valid for five years. For teenagers aged fifteen to eighteen, there’s an option for either shorter validity or the standard full duration. Adults aged eighteen and older will continue to receive passports valid for ten years.
