Robotic rabbits have been developed by researchers to lure Burmese pythons in Florida's Everglades. The robots are designed to imitate the heat and movement of real marsh rabbits, which attract the snakes. Earlier studies indicated that live rabbits effectively drew pythons, but maintenance was challenging. The number of robotic rabbits deployed has increased from 40 to 120 after initial testing.
